Priest Retreats

Talk 1:  A Priest is a Beloved Son

Fr. Larry Richards in the first talk for the 2013 Priest’s Retreat at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, Indiana explains how priests must be icons of Christ the Chief Shepherd and this begins with being good sheep which starts with Baptism when we all become children of God, brothers with Jesus who is God the Son, the first child of God.

 

Talk 2:  A Priest Must Surrender to the Holy Spirit

Fr. Larry Richards in the second talk for the 2013 Priest’s Retreat at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, Indiana reflects on the need to surrender to the Holy Spirit to be a good priest, to be an icon of Christ.

 

Talk 3:  A Priest is an Icon of Mercy

Fr. Larry Richards in the third talk for the 2013 Priest’s Retreat at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, Indiana exhorts priests to be minsters of mercy and so become icons of Christ.

 

 

Talk 4:  A Priest is the Icon of Joy

Fr. Larry Richards in the fourth talk for the 2013 Priest’s Retreat at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, Indiana calls all priests to become icons of joy and in this way to attract many souls to God.

 

 

 

Talk 5:  A Priest is an Icon of Peace

Fr. Larry Richards in the fifth talk for the 2013 Priest’s Retreat at the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, Indiana. Retreat explains that we must become Icons of Peace and this peace comes by surrendering to the will of God. When we can say I want your will, Lord, more than I want my next breathe, then we are on the right track!

 

Talk 6:  A Priest is an Icon of Love

Fr. Larry Richards in the sixth talk for the 2013 Priest’s Retreat at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, Indiana uses the example of married life as described by Paul in Ephesians where he described the sacrifices that we must make for our spouses and how this sacrificial life is how we will be judged. This is especially true of priests who must love all those who are under their care. Love must always come before giving people truth and loving must exclude judgement.

 

Talk 7:  A Priest is an Icon of Holiness

Fr. Larry Richards in the seventh and final talk for the 2013 Priest’s Retreat at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, Indiana talks on how priests need to be holy, to be Icons of Holiness. This primarily is done by developing a prayer life.
